work, work, work

Gack.... the line faults role has been extended until the end of May.

As one of my teammates said (after hearing the news) - "Just give me my lobotomy now, thanks"

I want to give up...

I had some rice with dinner and obviously this is something I'll need to cut right down on... I measured my bgl before dinner - 5.2 and two hours later 10.7 (that's in mmol/m).

I just want to give up....

I just want to eat what I like (doesn't even have to be junk food).
I don't want to *have* to exercise.
I don't want to have to prick my fingers on a daily basis.
I don't want to have to go to the doctors so often.
I don't want to think of all the bloody complications possible if I don't control my levels.
I don't want to have to do this for the rest of my damn life.

What was that sound, you ask? Meh, just my new year's resolution (to be more positive) shattering into a million pieces...

movie watching

I was watching Return of the Jedi tonight. They changed it a bit and I'm not sure I care for the change. You see, they put in Hayden Christensen at the end bit (where everyone's partying and Luke looks over and sees the spirits of his father, Obi-Wan and Yoda). A couple of thoughts come to mind...

1. Are the spirits meant to look like the person when they died? If so, why not leave the original actor in there?

2. If the spirits can choose to look however they want, then why wouldn't Obi-Wan choose to look like his younger self? Ewan McGregor is pretty damn hot, really.

I guess I should have seen it coming after J mentioned that they'd changed Boba Fett's voice in the Empire Strikes Back (they showed it last week) to have a New Zealand accent (so it fit in with the Attack of the Clones episode).

At the same time I also watched Logan's Run (flipping between the two channels). Now that's a movie I haven't seen in a long long time. Got me to remembering the tv show they made. I loved that as a kid. And according to IMDB they're also doing a remake of the movie. I guess the saying 'everything old is new again' is really true.
