uh oh

J and I are going to have to start talking in code...

Last night, just before dinner we realised that we'd forgotten to get something out of the freezer. None of the usual suspects from the cupboard appealed to either of us. So we started discussing alternatives. I suggested a bbq chook or some p-i-z-z-a. I spelled it out because, while we don't have it often*, Chickie loves it and I didn't want to suggest it in his hearing if we decided against it.

As soon as I spelled it out, Chickie piped up and said 'yeah! let's have pizza!' J and I both looked at him in amazement. We've only spelled it out once before and we didn't get it that time so I've no idea how he recognised what we were spelling. I suppose when you spell it out, it does sound like the word, but it had us a bit shocked for a moment.

We ended up with the bbq chook, roast potatoes and veg. Yum.

* J could eat it every day of the week, but I'm not that enthused by it, so it's a pretty rare thing in our household. J gets it for himself every now and then, but he's also trying to get into shape to go back to his stick-waving hobby, so neither of us has had it lately.

It's amazing what they can decipher isn't it!?

The worst day of my life was when my niece learned how to spell/read. We can no longer spell anything in her presence. She tells.

As usual, I have no clue what chook is but I'd rather have the pizza.

Did Chicky have a meltdown for not getting pizza?

They soon learn things like that!
We dont have Pizza often- I like it too much, & dont need the calories.
BBQ chook was a good substitute.

we have to converse in German if we want to talk about something without the FB understanding.

That's not so amazing - both our dogs know "JalapeƱo popcorn". Well, ok, they can't spell it so I guess it si pretty amazing after all.

What is chook? I love to grill so if it is something new and wonderful I am interested in trying it...

sorry guys - chook is just an aussie word for chicken. I was forgetting it wasn't universal :)

I think J and I are going to have to learn a new language... I'd go for Japanese since I started learning it in the past (forgotten most of it now) but I don't think pizza and most fast foods words would be too different. I know McDonalds sounds the same.

Oh and no, Chickie didn't have a meltdown with no pizza. He's growing up so much lately - the only time meltdowns really happen is if he's tired (then all bets are off!)

Ew. Chicken. Can't eat, smell it or be near it. I'm nauseaous just reading about it! lol

We don't have pizza very often. Sarah and I will eat it, but aren't that keen on it. Donna's the pizza lover in the house and she's still on her diet.

Now chicken on the other hand, I could live on that, or fish. We've got chook for dinner tonight, we had it last night too, and the night before.
