And Chickie was excited to go back to school. So, I figure he must have enjoyed himself. He didn't care that we were going yesterday and barely looked in our direction as we were leaving today. Mind you, after asking about his day yesterday, you'd think all he'd done all day was play in the playground and in the sand pit!
He must be making friends though. We went down to the shops afterwards to get a little celebration cake, of his choosing, for starting school (a choc mint mud cake from the Cheesecake Shop - well, a quarter of one really) and a little girl in a similar 'uniform' called out his name and said hello. He didn't know her name, mind you...
So, all in all he's fine. Me on the other hand... well, I still can't believe he's old enough to go to school. Yesterday, J and I came home and I had a tear or two and then J left for work. I tried to settle down to read the new Harry Potter book but just couldn't concentrate on it. So, I haven't got very far yet. I've got the full week off work and I've scheduled something each day (today I saw the new Harry Potter movie - loved it) so hopefully I'll actually finish the book sometime!
I'm glad I'm not working this week. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be much use there, while I'm this scatterbrained!

He sounds like he will get along fine. It is a wrench on the mother, I dont care what anyone says.
Keep busy.
Isn't it (gift and curse) amazing that Mom's feel so deeply on behalf of their children? We had an episode of J.T. getting picked on at the playground last year, and Rob and I were both ready to do battle for him!
I have never read a single Harry Potter book but I do have what I consider an sick joy in watching the movies.
What are the odds that I can make it all the way to the last movie without getting a spoiler thrown at me? Slim.
Try the book "Eye of the World" by Robert Jordan when your done with HP. I think you will enjoy it, give it 11 chapters and you will not turn back. Bonus is that he already has 12 books out, so you have plenty to read.
Cheers,
Gnat.
.
I started reading a "Tale of two cities" last week and just couldn't seem to focus on it. I read a chapter and then realized I had no idea what I just read!
Choc-mint mud cake! Your fellow has very good taste.
You just wait, you'll reach a point in HP7 where you just...can't....stop!
He sounds like he is doing just great at school, and you're doing well too!
I'm glad Chickie's settled in well.
Enjoy HP, it's fab! I agree with Tracey, you'll definitely get to a point in it and not be able to stop.
meggie - I agree and I did try to keep busy :)
melinda - I'd imagine I'd feel the exact same way if he was being picked on!
gnat - very slim, I think. I tried not to look at too much on the web to spoil the latest book and I succeeded. I wasn't on the computer so much this week though.
I'll have to take a look at Robert Jordan. At the moment I'm still also reading the Terry Goodkind books.
ogo - that was definitely me on Monday! I will be reading it again but I think I'll start from the first book in the series.
tracey - he loves choc and mint together. He calls it green topped chocolate - probably why his fave colour is green!
velcro - He's loved his first week there. Hopefully he keeps on loving it.
hannah - yep, I got to a point where I didn't want to stop. Unfortunately I find it hard to read around Chickie. He either wants me to read it to him or he wants me to read his books to him. I think it will be a lot easier when he starts reading himself.
