Misheard lyrics

I love this site - kissthisguy.com - every now and then I'll browse through it for a laugh. Though I must admit it's been a while since I visited.

What brought it to mind was the Eskimo Joe song "Black Fingernails, Red Wine". Now, I'm going to admit something here... but I have my own misheard lyric from this song. There's a line in there that says "All of us stand and point our fingers" but any time I heard it, all I could make out was "I don't understand the point of fingers". hehe

Now, I knew that couldn't be correct, but I just could not figure out the line. I don't know why I didn't just google it to start with. Problem is, now I can't stop thinking of my line instead!

So... do you have a misheard lyric at all?

my favourite two though are "climb every woman" by whitney houston. I wondered if she was trying to tell us something and a line from Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos that in my head goes "rabi where do you keep the cheese girl?"

am completely lyric deaf so every song becomes a surrealist moment.

Not me, but a friend once thought the line "darkness imprisoning me" was "doctor is visiting me". (Metallica, btw.) We stopped being friends soon after.

My husband and I were talking about this the other day. Remember the '70s song by England Dan and John Ford Coley, "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight" ? There's a line: I'm not talking 'bout moving in
I misheard: I'm not talking 'bout the linen. (or maybe the Lenon, as in a reference to John)
But my husband thought it was: I'm not talking 'bout millenium.
And that is so lame because it's too many syllables!

Happy to Be Stuck with You by Huey Lewis......I thought for the longest time it was Happy to the Step with You. When I realized that those weren't the correct lyrics, I was semi-embarrassed but then I realized it was the perfect reception intro song for my wedding....so it worked out. hahaha

"Working on the Night Moose," instead of "Night Moves."

Worst verbal typo EVER. :)

Listening to "Dirty deads, done dirt cheap" years ago, my Mum thought they were singing, "dirty knees and gungy feet".

Mine isn't so funny as I can't remember the song, but it was only yesterday, and I was watching a Ziggy Stardust concert on Foxtel. I said to my mum "it sounds like he's singing about selling something on Ebay".

And I found this funny somehow because Ebay ( or the Inter-ma-net ) weren't even invented then.

It was a surreal loungeroom moment .. and .. um .. I guess you had to be there, huh ? ...

is it Judy in the skies or Judy in diguise or both?

Its "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)" by John Fred and His Playboys. It was a parody of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" by the Beatles. (That info is courtesy of Google but I did know it was Judy in Disguise (With Glasses) because my dad corrected me once.....oops.)

I can't remember any I've misheard but my ex used to sing "Alex the seal" for "Our lips are sealed". (Any wonder I dropped him ;))

There's probably a lot that I think are the right lyrics but aren't!

Michele sent me here.
