Matchbox 20 says "It's 3 am I must be lonely"

I say "It's 3 am and I want to go back to bed!". But I can't just yet - it's my turn.

Chickie's not well, and has been having bouts of throwing up for several hours. J really needs to go to work tomorrow, er later today, so he's off to bed.

Apparently Chickie will get about 30 minutes of sleep before he wakes up again, so I figure I'll stay up for half an hour and see how he goes. We gave him some kids Panadol (paracetamol) this time since he's also running a fever, so perhaps it might help him sleep. If he stays asleep after the half hour mark, I might chance lying down again though.

Chickie did say that he had a 'stummy-ache' before he went to bed, but he seemed perfectly fine. Now he says his insides taste strange. I hope it's not catching because I feel a bit queasy myself. Mind you, that could just be because I'm not so good with people throwing up - I tend to gag a bit myself.

If past illnesses are anything to go by, the Panadol should help. He's the sort of kid that throws up when he's got a fever and if we can bring that down he should be able to get some sleep.

It's a good thing I have a proper clothes line now, since it's sure to get a workout tomorrow! Um.. later today...

Yuck! I hope he feels better soon and that you don't catch it/get some sleep! Try watered down gatorade to calm his belly, restore fluids and electrolytes. That's why my pediatrician recommended because the Pedialyte type formulas make my boy throw up more.

Thanks charm school reject :) I'm hopeful that the Panadol is working as it's now past the half hour mark and he's still asleep. I might go lay down now and see how it goes.

I'll have to try the watered down gatorade if he's still sick later today (I keep wanting to write 'tomorrow'). I don't actually have any in the house at the moment.

Aw I'm sorry honey, I know exactly how you are feeling, been in the midst of sick kids all day...
Hope he feels better soon, you too, as from the sounds of it all this lack of sleep can't be too healthy neither.

Thanks carmelo. He did manage to get a bit of sleep, but still threw up a few more times. Now he's hanging out on the couch with some toast that he asked for but hasn't touched. He says he's felt like being sick a few more times but hasn't. At least he doesn't have a fever anymore. So I think he's getting better.

As for me? I could do with a good few hours sleep!

Oh poor wee thing. How is he doing now? I hope he starts to feel better soon, and that you get to have some sleep.
Also hope that it's not a bug. Was about to ask if the winter vomiting bug is going around where you are. Doh!

Thanks velcro - he's not been sick for several hours now. He's veging out on the couch watching tv.

I'm half wondering if it's a touch of heat stroke - yesterday was pretty hot here (38 degrees) and he was out helping his grandad with the recycling (squishing cans etc). I do know he doesn't handle heat very well.

Eurgghhh.

My sympathies :(
Apparently there's 'something going 'round'.

Like that helps ;)

Yuck. We had a particularly nasty bug sweep the house last winter. I did have a bit of a gag reflex thing going too.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm pretty sure that gastro bugs aren't very contagious! ;)
