An advertiser's dream

I was talking to Chickie yesterday, about his birthday (he'll be 5 in June). Earlier this year, I was thinking that he and his 3 closest friends at childcare could have a little party. I'll have to rethink that now since two of the 'four musketeers' (as the childcare workers called them) have gone to school already and I don't have their contact details. May just have to make it Chickie, L (who is still at childcare for the first school term) and the kids from the mother's group we used to hang with.

I was thinking of doing a ten pin bowling party. J's work had a social club outing at the local bowling place last year and Chickie had an absolute ball. Something about being encouraged to knock things over perhaps??

So I mentioned this to Chickie and he got all excited. He must have seen an ad on the tv for a bowling birthday party, because he started talking about what they could do and how they could have chips and hot dogs etc. So I said "So you like that idea then, and you want to do it?". His response? "Yes! I want to do exactly what the tv tells me!"

Oh dear... better cut down on the tv.

Sometimes I wish Holly would watch tv, just so I could get the dinner ready or ... anything really! Most of the time when I turn it on and she says "Mummy, turn that thing off!" Playschool's the only exception. Oh, and the News!

We've attended a couple of bowling parties and they were fun for the boys but kind of frantic! Really noisy, Climber was wiped out after both of them.

Maybe it's time to tune the telly to ABC? (And only ABC!)

To celebrate my husband's 40th birthday, he thinks we should fly to New York City and leave our son with a relative. I'm feeling a little anxious about leaving the child. Maybe he'd go for a bowling party instead?

Nice thing about the bowling alley, they have to deal with the mess after.

LOL. My son watches WAYYYY too much TV. I went to a bowling party not long ago. It was the first time I had been bowling in like 10 years!

My No. 2 sees a commercial and says "Mom can we get that?" It's like Viagra or something. I've gotten to the piont where I just say "Sure, honey." because if I say no she whines and says why so much that I think I'm going to burst.

Is it sync'd yet? said...

Don't let him watch the skin flicks!

Do they put up the bumpers in the ally so the ball always makes it to the pins down there?

Good lord, kids are in my future I am just not sure I am ready for that yet.

h&s - in Chickie's case tv doesn't distract him when I really need it (like cooking dinner)!

stomper - the bowling alley's noisy enough, but I'm sure adding a bunch of 5 year olds wouldn't help. At least I have a few months to 'steel' myself. Chickie doesn't actually watch much of channels 7,9,10 - we have foxtel so he prefers Nick Jr, Playhouse Disney and Boomerang (classic cartoons). I don't think they have any ads at all on those channels.

surcie - well, you could try suggesting it... heh :)

phos - lol! And I like the idea of someone else cleaning up the mess - very much!

tasha - Chickie is the same unfortunately. I really need to cut it back.

madison - I'll have to check that out. I'd rather not say exactly where I am though :)

michko - lol! I know what you mean about just agreeing with them though. Pick your battles and all that!

gnat - thanks for visiting. Yes they put the bumpers up. That way he gets a better score than me...

Oh and who is ever really ready for kids?
